There’s a local legend in Alsace that the first bubbles of Crémant d’Alsace were discovered accidentally when an enterprising winemaker left his still wine in bottles over winter. The cold temperatures caused the wine to naturally ferment in the bottle, creating the delightful effervescence that would later be perfected as Crémant d’Alsace.
